Massage for Back Pain

Desk work and long commutes leave the back stiff and knotted. Our therapists work on the muscles that hold that tension.

How massage helps with back pain

Most everyday back ache comes from tight, overworked muscles beside the spine and around the hips. Massage increases blood flow and helps tight muscles relax, which is why many people move more easily afterwards.

For stubborn knots, a Deep Tissue Massage uses slow, firm pressure. If you prefer less pressure, a Stone Massage warms the muscles first. Thai Massage adds assisted stretching for a stiff lower back.

Massage is for relaxation and muscle comfort, not medical treatment. If pain is severe, follows an injury, or comes with numbness, tingling or weakness, please see a doctor first. Tell your therapist about any medical condition, pregnancy or recent surgery.
